Visit Preparation Advice

We appreciate that surgery can be daunting.  

Knowing where to be, what to bring, and what to expect can help to remove any uncertainty you may be feeling.  

Before your surgery date, and as a part of our pre-admission process, we make sure to connect with all patients via a phone call. This allows us to gather some further information about you, provide you with the information relevant to your procedure and attendance at ParkView Day Surgery, and provides you with the opportunity to ask any questions you may have, 

See the below advice and recommendations to ensure your surgery day is stress free.  

  • On the day of your procedure please present at the ParkView Day Surgery reception desk at the time provided on your admission documentation and one of our friendly reception staff will assist you. 
  • You will not be able to drive home after your procedure. You will need to arrange for a friend or family member to attend with you or collect you after your procedure.  
  • For procedures involving IV sedating medications, you will be required to have a responsible adult with you for the next 24 hours. 
  • Wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes and no eye make up on the day of your surgery. 
  • Please bring the below documents and resources with you on the day:
    • Your admission records
    • Drivers License (if you have one)
    • Medicare Card
    • Private Heath Insurance card or details (if you have private health insurance).
    • Veterans’ Affairs card or Pensioner Concession card (if you have either of these)
    • Any medications you are currently taking
    • Advanced Care Directive (if applicable)
